We are committed to keeping any and all personal information collected of those individuals that visit our website and make use of our online facilities and services accurate, confidential, secure and private. We have designed this Privacy Policy to ensure those affiliated with us of our commitment and obligation to not only meet, but exeed most existing privacy standards.

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which "Drug Policy Project of Utah" (henceforth, the "Operator") collects, uses, maintains, and disclosed information collected from users (henceforth, the "User") of the http://www.dpputah.org/ website (henceforth, the "Site"). This Privacy Policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by the Operator. 

Personally Identifiable Information 

The Operator may collect personally identifiable information from the User in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to: when the User visits the Site, subscribes to a mailing list, fills out a form, and in connection with other activites, services, features, or resources the Operator makes available on the Site. The User may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. The Operator will collect personally identifiable information from the Users only if the User voluntarily submits such information to the Operator, or if the User authorizes a third-party (such as Facebook or Twitter) to provide such information. The User can always refuse to supply personally identifiable information and may visit the Site anonymously, except that it doing so may prevent the User from engaging in certain Site related activities. 

Non-Personally Identifiable Information 

The Operator may collect non-personally identifiable information about the User whenever the User interacts with the Site. Non-personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, the browser name, the type of computer, and other technical information about the User's means of connection to the Site, such as the operating system, Internet Service Provider utilized, and other similar information. The Operator may also collect anonymous demographic information such as age, gender, household income, political affiliation, race and religion.

The Site may use cookies to enhance the User's experience. The User's web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes, which is sometimes used to track information about the User. The Operator may use information collected from the user for purposes including, but not limited to:

  • Improving the site - The Operator may use feedback the User provides to improve the products and services offered.
  • Running a site feature - This includes, but is not limited to: contests, surveys, and site discussion.
  • To send periodic emails - The Operator may use the email address to respond to the User's inquiries, questions, and/or other requests.

The Operator may find it beneficial to share specific data with trusted partners in an effort to conduct statistical analysis, provide the User with email and/or postal mail, deliver support and/or arrange for deliveries to be made. Those third-parties shall be strictly prohibited from making use of collected information, other than to deliver those services which you requested, and as such are thus required, in accordance with this agreement, to maintain the strictest of confidentiality with regards to all collected information.

The Operator does not now, nor will it ever, sell, rent or lease any of our customer lists and/or names to any third-parties. 

Protection Of Collected Information

The Operator adopts appropriate data collection, storage, and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information, and other data stored on the Site.

The Site also employs the use of SSL (secure socket layer) for authentication and protection of personal and financial information.

Third-Party Websites

The User may find advertising or other content on the Site that link to the sites and services of the partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensees, and other third-parties. The Operator does not control the content or links that appear on these sites and is not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from the Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to the Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Unsubscribe Or Opt-Out

The Operator provides the option for the User to discontinue receiving communications by use of email or newsletters. To discontinue or to unsubscribe from communications provided by the Operator, please send an email indicating your request to contact@dpputah.org or visit http://www.dpputah.org/unsubscribe.

Children Under Age of 13

The Operator does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen (13) without verifiable parental consent. If it is determined that such information has been inadvertently collected on anyone under the age of thirteen (13), the Operator shall immediately take the necessary steps to ensure that such information is deleted from the Site's database. No part of the Site is structured to attract anyone under the age of thirteen (13), and anyone that is, must seek and obtain parent or guardian permission to use the Site.

Changes To This Policy

The Operator has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When the Operator does, the Operator will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. The Operator encourages the User to frequently check this page for any changes and to stay informed about how the Operator is helping to protect the personal information collected on the Site. The User acknowledges and agrees that it is their responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
